2013 Youth Summer Camp Programs
British Columbia has endless recreational activities available in pristine natural settings that provide countless learning opportunities. Fireside campers are guided through western Canada’s most scenic areas, from hiking along wild Pacific coastal shores, paddling in Howe Sound, biking around Galiano Island, walking amongst massive old growth forests and discovering secret waterfalls.
Fireside Adventures offers fun and memorable summer camp experiences with varying levels of intensity and duration. Take a look and see what adventures await!
Quest - International Youth Leadership Expedition (21 days) - For Ages 14 to 17
Canadian and international youth are welcomed to participate in a unique 21-day integrated youth leadership summer camp while being immersed in an outdoor adventure expedition. Located in beautiful British Columbia, participants explore some of BC's most beautiful and significant locations like Whistler, the Sunshine Coast and Gambier Island.
QUEST - Advanced (14 days) - For Ages 15-19
Located on Vancouver Island, campers will hike and camp along two of the most beautiful shoreline trails in British Columbia – Juan de Fuca and Cape Scott. Advanced outdoor skills and leadership training is incorporated along with one day at a high ropes initiative course. Yes - legs will get tired...and it's worth it.
Explorer - Big Mountain (7 days) - For Ages 12 to 15 - SOLD OUT
This junior outdoor leadership camp will take campers to beautiful and popular Whistler to explore endless trails and provide an introduction to back-country camping. Sleeping under the stars on top Wedgemont, eating s'mores by the campfire with your friends, and one night at The Fireside Lodge... is there anything better?
Explorer - Big Canoe (7 days) - For Ages 12 to 15
This junior outdoor leadership camp, will take summer campers exploring along the shoreline of Gambier Island. Campers will focus on improving their canoeing abilities, discussing canoe and water safety and environmental sustainability. The Explorer programs are a perfect, however not necessary, prerequisite for the Quest Leadership programs.
FireFly - Pirates of Howe Sound (6 days) For Ages 8 to 12
Become a FireFly pirate and you will troll the shores of Howe Sound by canoe in search for hidden treasures and learn outdoor wilderness skills that even Captain Jack Sparrow would be proud of!
FireFly - JUNIOR Pirates of Howe Sound (6 days) For Ages 6 to 8
Ahoy Junior Pirates! Paddle your way along the shores of Gambier Island in serach of hidden treasure while learning the basics of camping and cooking outdoors. Additional activities include archery, canoe and kayaking, crab fishing and learning how to properly bury treasure.
